About the author: Ina T. Klaasen
Ina Klaasen holds a MSc in Physical Geography (1974), a degree in Philosophy (academic core programme of the Dutch Open University, and received her Doctorate (2003) with this thesis, with is partly based on earlier publications. In 1975 she became a university lecturer in Urban & Regional Design at the Faculty of Architecture of the Delft University of Technology where she still works. From 1978 until 1987 she was also an elected member of Provincial Council of North Holland. From 1987 on she combined being a lecturer in Delft for a few years with that of urban planning policy consultant for the Municipality of Amsterdam.
At present she is an Associate Professor of Spatial Planning at the Faculty of Architecture, editor of the book series Design/Science/Planning, co-editor of Journal of Design Research and a member of the Amsterdam Council for Urban Development (ARS).
